A Grassroots England Camp – with England Legends!

This is your chance to spend an unforgettable weekend at St George’s Park, where you will get to experience first-hand The Greater Game in action at a Grassroots England Camp. England Legends and experts from England national teams and M&S Food will unite to bring you the ultimate football experience!

What's included:

An overnight stay: at St Georges Park (DE13 9PD) with all meals provided.
England Legends: Hear from England legends who’ve graced the pitch at the highest levels. Learn their secrets, get personalised tips, and use this to elevate your teams’ game to new heights.
Insight into The Greater Game: We will be taking a deep dive into the core programme elements of eating well, sleeping well, thinking well, and moving well. These sessions have been designed to enhance your understanding of how best to support the health and wellbeing of your players. Providing you with tangible activities that you can use with your players at your club.
An amazing Goodie Bag: On arrival you will be presented with kit, just like your England Hero’s do. Throughout the two days you will receive a range of goodies and have opportunities to enter exclusive competitions.

The Greater Game online training must be completed.
Applicants must be over 18 years of age and available to attend the full weekend.

SPL recognised for youth player wellbeing by The FA’s Greater Game initiative

Surrey Primary League has been recognised by The FA for its commitment to the wellbeing of young players. The league, based in Surrey, has been selected to become a flagship league as part of The FA’s healthy lifestyles programme ‘The Greater Game’ – a national initiative designed to place the physical and mental wellbeing of 12-16-year-olds at the heart of the game.

Launched by The FA in 2024 in partnership with M&S Food, ‘The Greater Game’ sets out to inspire young people aged 12-16 to make one healthier lifestyle choice or action per week.

With the support of grassroots football clubs, The Greater Game programme delivers national events, resources and support for families and coaches in making football a force for better health and wellbeing in young people.

Surrey Primary League has been selected to join The Greater Game programme as one its first ‘Flagship Leagues’, recognising the ongoing commitment of Surrey Primary League to champion health, wellbeing and personal development of young players alongside football performance, and to use the sport as a platform to support players and coaches on and off the pitch.

League Secretary Andy Kelly says: “We’re thrilled to join The Greater Game and show our commitment to the wellbeing of every player. This initiative aligns perfectly with our values - ensuring that football remains a space where players can grow, learn, and enjoy the game while building healthy habits for life.”

Throughout the season, Surrey Primary League will deliver a range of wellbeing-focused activity across its clubs, including themed matchdays that celebrate wellbeing, engage families and encourage meaningful conversations between players and coaches about positive lifestyle choices for teens.

The league will also actively promote coach education, encouraging all club coaches to complete free online training through England Football Learning, alongside additional webinar and in-person development opportunities for league and club officials.

Silent Support Weekend is a national initiative to help young players find their voice on the pitch, make their own decisions and enjoy their game…with no distracting noise from spectators on the sidelines.

SPL Simon Hedley Fun Festival

We are pleased to update on the above event - for this season, the league’s annual festival will be held over the weekend of 30th and 31st May 2026 and will again be hosted by Laleham (Youth) FC – venue address as below

Laleham Recreation Ground, The Broadway, Laleham, Staines Upon Thames, Middlesex TW18 1RZ.

Saturday 30th May - U8 (AM), U9 (PM)
Sunday 31st May - U7 (AM), U10 (PM)

There is a limit of teams per age group that can attend and to avoid late team withdrawals we have introduced a £25 fine if a team withdraws, and we do not find a replacement.

Of course, we hope all teams can attend and enjoy the event.

All teams entering must be teams that have been part of the SPL in season 25/26 – if any age group is under subscribed, we may approach current member clubs to offer places

This event is strictly first come first serve so act quickly to book your place - Entry form/link is below – we will update once any age group reaches its limit and create a waiting list.

IMPORTANT to note for season 25/26 all SPL Development age group games (U7 to U11) will standardise the passback rule to comply with FA guidance - in short a deliberate passback to the GK cannot be picked up by the GK

New Club Registration Process

Effective from Season 2025/26

We have implemented a new Membermojo form to accept Club Registrations and Renewals from 2025/26. The Club Secretary should complete one application for the whole club.

Please note for this season, if you are a returning club, you will need to complete the form from scratch as we have not imported your previous seasons information. Following Season 2025/26 you will be then be able to renew easily by updating your record for future seasons when the system has been rolled over.

The existing Club & Team Contacts System will remain as the in-season database for all contacts. So after your club has registered (and approved if you are a new club or new to SPL), all club and team contacts should still register here .
